Becky E. Raboy, Ph.D.
As an independent consultant, I have worked with a diverse array of conservation practitioners enhancing environmental and human wellbeing. Some of my activities include: promoting evidence-based conservation, strategic planning, GIS/spatial analysis and development and testing of software tools. I have more than 20 years working as a conservation ecologist specializing in the study of threatened primates in fragmented forests of Brazil. In this time I have directed field projects, published widely, obtained competitive grants, mentored undergraduate and graduate students, served as a thought leader for conservation, participated in international collaborations to improve ecological modeling software, and trained in conservation facilitation. I have extensive experience with university teaching as well - having taught several courses in animal behaviour, biodiversity, conservation and environmental decision making with a strong focus on pedagogy. These days I am looking for new experiences to utilize my skill set to positively impact people and the environment, move our knowledge base forward, and improve the way things are run for lasting outcomes. I am trained as a conservation coach in the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation and am available to help your organization with their conservation needs.
